September Homework

Homework Folders

Homework folders will go home every Monday thru Thursday.  Please take 5-10 minutes a night to do the homework.  Flashcards will be coming home these first few weeks.  Be sure to cut the flashcards and keep them in the bag in the homework folder.  Please practice the flashcards nightly until your child has them memorized.  I will take them out of the homework folders when they no longer need to go home.

Library Books

Library books go home every Wednesday.  Please find a few minutes to share the library book together as a family.  Please return all library books by Friday.

Sharing

Students are allowed to bring in 1 sharing item a week.  The item must start with the letter of the week and must fit in their backpack.  Please practice having your child 'share' their item at home.

Pictures for our Letter Poster

Students are encouraged to bring in pictures to put on our letter poster.  The pictures should represent something that starts with the letter of the week.

Friday Bags

Please be sure to go through the Friday bags every weekend.  Have your kids show you/read their work to you.  Please put all of the little books in their yellow book bag to read, and reread during the week.  Please return all Friday Bags on Monday mornings.

Teacher Quote.jpeg

"UNITY"

I dreamed I stood in a studio

And watched two sculptors there,

The clay they used was a young child's mind,

And they fashioned it with care.

One was a TEACHER; the tools she used

Were books and music and art;

One was a PARENT with a guiding hand,

And a gentle, loving heart.

Day after day the teacher toiled,

With touch that was deft and sure,

While the parent labored by his side

And polished and smoothed it o'er.

And when at last their task was done,

They were proud of what they had wrought,

For the things they had molded into the child

Could neither be sold nor bought.

And each agreed he would have failed

If he had worked alone,

For behind the parent stood the school,

And behind the teacher, the home.
